Toasted, bright, spicy.
Pioneering one of BC's emerging wine regions, Fort Berens (named after a trading post, which was located on their property some 150 years ago) is located Lillooet, BC in the Fraser Canyon. This vintage, their Chardonnay doles out roasted hazelnuts, buttery croissants, lemon meringue and fine spice with a core of yellow apples and toasted oak. It shows a more toasted oak on the palate this vintage than last, but is nicely balanced with bright acidity to keep it fresh.
Good weight overall.
